Captain Flint the Parrot

The brief was to create a puppet parrot which could be comfortably operated by two 14 year old puppeteers for a school production of Treasure Island.
​
Ideally-

• the head would tilt in a cheeky manner,
• the beak would move
• the wings open expansively for the physical expression of a swooping flight
• Captain Flint would happily perch on a shoulder
  

All this was achieved within a tight budget and timeframe.

We shed a tear when Captain Flint departed the studio and wish him all the very best for an exciting future on the stage!
